People are the backbone of your business. To engage workers as well as to benefit from that engagement, an organization needs to invest in its human resource practices. Organizations should have peer to peer recognition software program as a part of their human resource practices. This can go a long way in improving employee engagement .A few of the elements that add strength to this support are in terms of transparency and efficacy. Clarity in management principles and policies, yearly plans for organization growth, defining changes in the way the company works and the need to do so, etc. are some of the macro level factors that keep an employee’s thoughts and energy aligned with your goals.

Institute for Employment Studies define engagement as “A positive attitude held by the employee towards the organization and its values. An engaged employee is aware of business context, and works with colleagues to improve performance within the job for the benefit of the organization. The organization must work to develop and nurture engagement, which requires a two way relationship between employer and the employee”.

Each employee is different and so are their needs and expectations. It’s important to inspire each one of them to keep them add on to the business with their extra time, brainpower and effort. A research from Bain & Company, in 2015, conducted in conjunction with the Economist Intelligence Unit published by HBR.ORG conveys to us that inspired employees are more productive and loyal to their organizations. At the micro level, inspiration come from the people working together on the floor. It’s the humane factor – be it seniors, juniors or peers who inspire you daily in various ways to give your best at your job. There may be role models for some, or supportive colleagues who cover up for you, or a team which owns responsibility or a singular motivation factor which make life attractive at workplace. There would be multiple reasons. Each works differently for the other.
