How millennials perceive social recognition

High performing millennials around the world have one thing in common: they lead the world worth their personalities. And no norms can break their spirit to be “myself”. Whether they are in sports, in entertainment, in business or services – millennials want a profession that suits their personality, fires their interest.

Young talents like living on the winning edge, willing to take risks and the opportunity to learn from someone with expertise. And they want it to happen NOW. It is very difficult to answer the question, what millennials want in the workplace? They want each moment to be theirs. Millennials want to work with a purpose and prefer a workplace aligned with their values.

Deloitte’s 2017 Millennial Survey found that millennial career goals don’t differ that much from older generations. They are seeking jobs which provide stability and opportunities in an uncertain world. Irrespective of the external challenges, millennials feel businesses might help create the type of world they wish to inhabit. It becomes all the more imperative for businesses seeking to attract, develop and retain millennial talent to take note of their concerns and motivations.

Businesses who care for such aspirations of millennials are more likely to gain their trust and loyalty. Peer to peer employee recognition programs can help businesses to create work culture millennials want at workplaces.

What Millennials want in the workplace?

Businesses need to work upon developing practices that create a positive energy that fuels the best out of them.

Nurturing the millennial culture through social recognition is important for businesses as much as it is for the millennials themselves. They want to be heard, want to be recognized and want to live each moment to the fullest.

With millennials comprising of the majority of the workforce today, one needs successful recognition softwares that are easy to adopt, easy to implement and accepted by both management and employees with equal vigor.
